This summer Tracii will begin writing his authorized autobiography with music biographer Jake Brown (Heart, Motorhead, Rick Rubin).
Starting with his ground floor role in co-founding the biggest hard rock band of the past 25 years - Guns N' Roses, Brown commented that with this memoir 'fans can expect to avoid the typical tell-all fluff that sometimes distracts from what is, in this instance, truly one of the most fascinating and serendipitous adventures down the rock & roll rabbit hole.
Tracii is finally giving fans the inside story of his rapid rise through the Hollywood rock scene with his signature band LA Guns, culminating with his signing at age 18 with a major label. When most kids his age were heading off to college, Tracii headed off on his first world tour, and for 25 years since, he has lived a life that remains a dream for most. Tracii has decided to let his fans live vicariously through one of the greatest periods of rock history in the pages of this new book.

The release of the new edition of L.A. Guns album "Shrinking Violet" was the first step leading to the collaboration between the band and Favored Nations, the label owned by Steve Vai. On this occasion, Daniele Carlucci from SpazioRock had the chance to interview Tracii Guns. Enjoy it!
Hi Tracii and welcome to SpazioRock. Why did you decide to reissue "Shrinking Violet"? Is it due to the presence of Jizzy Pearl in the line-up, since "Shrinking Violet" is the only album sung by him?
Hello Daniele!!!!!!
The reason "Shrinking Violet" is the first release on Favored Nations, it is because we decided it was an album that was never released on a real label with distibution and also it was an easy way to start the relationship between us and the label.
In the new edition of "Shrinking Violet", why are missing "It's Hard" and "How Many More Times"?
The original reason is because there is not enough minutes on one CD to fit all of the studio and live tracks so, we are planning on the "Shrinking Violet" extended EP with more live tracks and the other studio tracks.
Is the band getting along with Jeremy?
He is the coolest member of L.A. Guns ever.
Would you like to tell me about your solo career? How is it going on?
Everyone’s career is a solo career HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.
There are two L.A. Guns band right now. How do you manage the situation? Couldn't you smooth out the differences with Phil Lewis?

What about the cooperation with Favored Nations? Considered that it’s owned by Steve Vai, do you think this may be an advantage?
It is a very nice label to be with and Steve is a great guy who I believe understands L.A. Guns music.
Are you working on a new stuff for a new album?
Yes.
Could you tell me something about the period when Axl Rose was in the band?
Axl was amazing in L.A. Guns and also in Guns n’ Roses and also the new Guns n’ Roses line-up. He is fantastic vocally.
The first two L.A. Guns albums were platinum, the third one was gold, then you didn't reach those results anymore. Was it because something changed or simply because it’s difficult to stay constantly on the top?
It is very difficult to stay anywhere HAHAHAHA.
Can you tell me about the period when you were in Guns n' Roses? Have you ever repented of leaving the band?
I was happy to leave Guns n’ Roses, because I enjoyed the success without the drama of that band.
In the 80's Los Angeles was full of bands which lived for rock n' roll. How did the situation change? Which are the pros and cons to grow up in Los Angeles, musically speaking?
I only recognized The Germs, Motley Crue, W.A.S.P. and Ratt back in the day. I never thought of competition or success, only music. If you are good, people will gravitate towards you. L.A. is the best place to play live music.
In your opinion, is there some new young band that can become a big band soon?

Isa and Ana Pinar made the L.A. Guns Street Team. They are the most dedicated people in The L.A. Guns camp.
Unfortunately, a legend like Ronnie James Dio passed away recently. Do you have any pleasant memory of him?
His music inspired millions of people and I met him one time. He was very open and nice to me. Rock n’ Roll will miss him.

Creative Photo Contest by the LAG Street Team Monday, February 9, 2009
Okay fans, the LA Guns Street Team myspace is in need of some cool special effects photos of each of the band members to put on our profile page. We would like for you to design those for us. Put those creative talents of yours to work and show us what you’ve got.
The following are some simple steps/rules of the contest.
1. Photos:You can use your own photo or someone else’s as long as you get their permission. The Street Team myspace pic section has photos available to use if you can’t find one.
2. Entries: Submit only one photo per band member but you do not have to submit photos of all the band members. Photos cannot be larger than 640x480 (tall or wide)
3. Where to post: Post your photos at the LA Guns message board in the Creative Photo Contest section (in the Street Team thread) in the appropriate band member’s section. If you’re not a member of the message board yet, you must become one in order to post your picture. Also, if you’re not a friend of the Street Team myspace , you must become one in order to participate. Just send us a friends request and we’ll be happy to add you.
4. How to create: If you do not have Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro, etc., there are other sources you can use to get those special effects to work with. Photobucket has a special effects section to add neat stuff to your photo. Also, you can go to these sites that offer it as well without any downloads:
5. Deadline: The deadline for all entries is March 30, 2009. That should be plenty of time to work on your creations.
6. Judging & Prizes: All entries will be judged by the LA Guns team. They will pick a winner from each band member's section. The winning entries will be used for the Street Team Myspace profile page and other promotional purposes along with your name for credit. A drawing will be held from those winners for an autographed pic of the band.
7. Questions: If you have questions, please, post them here! . We’ll answer them ASAP.

We’ve contacted the Myspace Music Team reporting that our site had been removed unfairly and demonstrating that we have full legal rights to own the L.A. Guns name. The site is going to be completely restored as it was before it was shut down so please, be patient and don’t remove the blank field that we left at your top friends because we’ll be there real soon.
www.myspace.com/losangelesguns will be verified as an official page in the myspace system as soon as it comes back live on site (and will prevent any unwarranted deletion of the profile going forward).
